All About India.

India is a country in South Asia.It is the 7th largest

country by area, the second most populous country

after China.

The national flag of India was adopted in its present form

during the meeting of Constituent Assembly held on 22 July 1947.

The flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya.

Saffron(top) indicates the strength and courage

of the country.White(middle) indicates peace and truth

with Dharma Chakra. Green(bottom) indicates the fertility,

growth and auspiciousness of the land.The Ashoka Chakra

is a depiction of the Buddhist Dharmachakra with 24 spokes.

The lion capital of Saranath has been adopted as the National

Emblem of the Republic of India.The wheel also denotes

motion. There is death in stagnation. The wheel represents

the dynamism of a peaceful change.

31 States, 1618 languages,6400 castes,6 religions,29 major

festivals and 1 country.

3 National festivals are-Gandhi Jayanti, Republic Day

and Independence Day.

”Jana Gana Mana” is the national anthem of India,

written by Rabindranath Tagore.2 other patriotic poems

that have an equal status with Jana Gana Mana are–

”Vande Mataram”(composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.

Saare Jahan Se Achcha Hindu sitaa Hamaara(written by Muhammad Iqbal)

National animal of India is Tiger(Symbolizes power).

National Bird—Peacock (symbolizes elegance)

National flower–Lotus (symbolizes purity)

National fruit–Mango(tropical climate of India)

National tree-Banyan(immortality)

There is no national language in India but 8th schedule

of Constitution recognizes 22 regional languages as

official languages.

At present we have 29 states and 7 union territories.

After inclusion of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh

the reorganization bill  will be passed  on 31 October

2019.

India’s population  is 133.92 crores. As per India’s census

2010, youth(15 to 24 years) in India constitute one -fifth

(35.11%) of India’s total population.
