countries around the world.Headquartered in Oak Brook,

Illionois, United States, the organization aims to meet

the needs of communities on a local and global scale.

7.In Nepal,Mt. Everest is called Sagarmatha. In Tibet,

”Chomolangma”(Mother of the Universe).Till 1865,

simply ”Peak XV”.From 1865, named Mt.Everest by

Sir Andrew Waugh, the British surveyor general of India.

The mountain was named after Sir George Everest, his

predecessor.Accurate height of the mountain is 8844.43 meters,

as announced by China’s State Bureau of Surveying and

Mapping.Everest’s new height is based on the highest

point of actual rock and not on the snow and ice that sits

on the top of that rock on the summit.
